TO LIVE,IS TO DIE

Sometimes, I am convinced earth, just like hades, Kur or Sheol is another name for hell, if it’s not then maybe it’s just a part of it. If they are two different worlds then the only difference must be that with the earth there is an escape door from all the suffering while with ‘hell’ well, there is no escape door, just eternal suffering. But then again, all the years you spend on earth suffering until you die, those years are considered  your eternity.

To escape from all the suffering, to find the peace you must die and to die you must suffer too. Only a few we say, are lucky enough to die peacefully, or so we assume because we can never really tell if they struggled for their last breath or simply breathe their last. Get sick and slowly escape or do it quickly and at once like drink yourself to death, get hit by a car, get involved in an accident, commit suicide, or die straight from birth. You accidentally step on an ant and think poor creature didn’t see that coming, only to remember that that is your own fate too, probably more painful than that.

A perfect betray of all times, your own body, the only thing you trust to be your own betrays you, subject you to suffering, unabashedly conspires with death. But then when you look at it with a positive mind you might be convinced it is one of the greatest pacts, a sacrificial pact between your body and death. The body gets tired and wishes to rest, perhaps be free from all the suffering, so it willingly allows death to take over in exchange for peace.

You suffer every day, if you catch a break, try to breathe in and out, alas its someone else who has to take it over from you as if it were a game of “tag” except the players are passive in the game, if it’s not your family, then it’s a friend or a friend of a friend If its neither then you get reminded of suffering where ever you go, what you watch and listen to. Every moment.

Human beings, have crowned themselves the cleverest among all of the living species, and through the ages have devised ways on how to lessen the “hell” heat or its impacts, like you do when it gets too hot or too cold, you try to make it at least bearable enough so that you forget about it briefly even though deep down you know it does not completely disappear. So, people as dead as they already are, “living corpses” as we are fond of saying, try to entertain themselves, drink, have sex make friendships, travel as if trying to prove to the dead that they are more alive than dead.

But to truly value happiness you must suffer, to enjoy perfect health you must get sick, to die you must live, or is it to live, you must die? When they say you find peace in Christ is it about knowing that after you escape this suffering you also get to escape suffering in the next life or that it gives you more understanding of suffering to the point it gives you peace or just makes you numb to suffering.
